 The office is closed for the following holidays:  New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Good Friday (close at 12 noon), Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, Veteran's Day, Christmas Eve Day (close at 12 noon), Christmas Day, New Year's Eve Day (close at 12 noon) and New Year's Day.  When the holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be on the immediately preceding Friday; if the holiday should fall on a Sunday, the holiday will be on the immediately following Monday.

Online Tax Information Year 2017-2018

You can now pay your property taxes with credit card payments. A service fee applies.   PLEASE ALLOW 24 HOURS FOR PAYMENT TO PROCESS.  2.75% of amounts over $64 or a minimum charge of $1.75 if under $64. E-Checks are also accepted. An access fee of $2.50 is charged for transactions under $1,999.99 for E-Checks. For transactions between $2,000.00 and $3,999.99 the access fee is $5.00 for E-Checks.

 Tax Collection:

Town and County property tax bills are sent out on or about February 15th of each year and are due on or before March 15th of each year without penalty.  Payments can be made through the mail or in person at our office during regular business hours. The Town Clerk can collect taxes through June 30th of each year and then the tax rolls go to the County of Erie for collection. Credit card payments are accepted for the payment of taxes; however, service fees apply.   

The Town Clerk's Office will now be collecting the Springville Griffith Institute School tax bills.  School tax bills are sent out on or about September 15th of each year and are due on or before October 15th of each year without penalty.  Payments can be mailed to the lockbox in the envelope provided or made in person at our office during regular business hours.  Credit card payments are accepted for payment of taxes; however, service fees apply.

Please note that under the law, you are responsible to pay your taxes on a timely basis even if you have not physically received a tax bill.

Partial Payments:

Partial payments are accepted on Town & County and Erie County properties for School Taxes. Cattaraugus County does not allow for partial payments.  After the due date, penalty and interest will be applied to the unpaid balance according to the penalty schedule located on the back of the tax bill.

Drop Box Use:

The tax office does accept tax payments via the drop box located at the front door entrance of the Town Hall. This drop box is cleared of all payments at midnight (12:00 a.m.) on the 16th of March and October for those paying taxes without penalty.

Penalties:

To avoid penalties, taxes must be paid by March 15th for Town/County taxes; October 15th for School taxes. Mailed payments are accepted without penalty if the envelope has a United States Postal Service postmark of the 15th of the month for Town/County and School taxes.   There can be no exceptions given. This is enforced by New York State Real Property Law. Penalties are assessed as described on the back of the respective tax bills.

End of Tax Collection:

County taxes can be accepted at the Town Clerk's Office through June 30th of each year. 

Cattaraugus County residents' school taxes can be accepted at the Town Clerk's Office through November 1st.   Cattaraugus County residents have until November 16th to pay their school taxes.  On November 17th, the unpaid school taxes are added to the next year's Town and County tax bill with additional penalties.  All payments made after November 1st must be forwarded to the following address:

Erie County residents' school taxes can be accepted at the Town Clerk's Office through November 30th.  On December 1st, taxes that are unpaid are returned to the County and added to the next year's Town and County tax bill with additional penalties, unless the taxes are paid directly to Erie County by December 30th.  All payments made after December 1st must be forwarded to the following address:

Village Taxes:

The Town Clerk's Office does not collect the Village of Springville tax. To obtain Village of Springville tax information, please call (716) 592-4936.
